Parental involvement is the “active and ongoing participation of a parent or primary caregiver in the education of the child.” . When parents feel seen and heard, they are more likely to support the school’s mission.

Parent engagement, on the other hand is when the support moves from the home and into the school. Here is where we see successful PAs, parent volunteers and parents who want to be directly involved with the school.

The roots of a successful early childhood program lie in the knowledge and understanding of child development coupled with the ability to identify, create and facilitate developmentally, linguistically and culturally relevant learning experiences that nurture the child’s mind, body and spirit.

As your coach and consultant I will support you in launching your early childhood program, curriculum design or selection, play-based learning, Reggio-Inspired pedagogy, data analysis, assessment, teacher effectiveness and approaches to literacy instruction.

Bilingual education provides numerous cognitive benefits in addition to enhancing brain function and structure. The most efficient bilingual instruction models are those that add a second language and culture without sacrificing the first and language and culture with the goal of students becoming bilingual, bicultural and biliterate.

As your bilingual coach and consultant and I will work with you to select and implement a bilingual instruction model that addresses students’ needs and awards all learners with the gift of speaking, listening, reading, writing and participating in more than one language and culture. I also provide support for teachers in establishing and maintaining best practices in bilingual instruction.
